Transboundary Aquifers

The International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC) has been involved in the study of transboundary aquifers since the approval of Minute No. 242 signed on August 30, 1973. Scientists from both countries representing universities, federal, and state agencies have been brought together to evaluate hydrologic and other pertinent data for the shared transboundary aquifers along the United States and Mexico border.

The following links provided will direct readers to information for each aquifer that is currently being studied under the program.
