CRP Photo Gallery - Turtle Survey observation
USIBWC CRP is interested in environmental and scientific research being conducted in the Rio Grande Basin. This turtle survey is part of a 5-year collaborative project, Texas Assessment of Aquatic Turtles Project, funded by the Texas Parks and Wildlife and USDA, and led by Texas State University's Dr. M. Forstner. Here, we observed students from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) who are capturing and releasing turtles in the El Paso region as part of the project. The first sampling was in June of 2009, and the second sampling was July 2010.
